The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday staged a protest to the office of Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) and National Assembly to protest against the alleged assault by men of the Nigeria Police on the Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose.
The National Chairman of the Party, Uche Secondus led the protest to submit a petition to the lawmakers on the alleged actions of the police at Ekiti yesterday.
“The @OfficialPDPNig leaders are in front of the @nassnigeria to submit petition on the brutality of Ekiti people by the policemen but were blocked by security” PDP tweeted.
The party said it went to INEC office to submit a petition against the opposition party candidate Kayode Fayemi on suspicion of plans to rig the election.
“The protest march of leaders of @OfficialPDPNig also visited the office of @inecnigeria to register another petition on the plans by INEC technical staff and other officers to preload the Card readers in order to rig the Ekiti election in favour of @kfayemi @APCNigeria”.
