INEC Registers 10.2 Million New Voters

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has put the total number of registered voters in the continuous voter registration exercise at ten million two hundred and ninety two thousand, six hundred and forty seven.

INEC chairman, Mahmood Yakubu released the figure on Wednesday at a meeting with resident electoral commissioners in Abuja.

INEC says it is set to conduct by-elections in Bauchi south senatorial district Katsina, north senatorial district, and Lokoja/Korton Karfe federal constituency in Kogi state as well as the Obudu constituency of cross river state.

Professor Mahmood says all four bye elections will be conducted on the same day.

The commission assured that details of the timetable and schedule of activities will be  released on Friday July 19, 2018.
