“$1bn Boko Haram funds approved by Governors”



Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has said that the states governors gave the approval for $1 billion to be spent in prosecution of the war against Boko Haram in the North East and combating other security issues from the Excess Crude Account, ECA, From Left: FCT Minister, Malam Mohammed Bello; Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha; Permanent Secretary, FCT, Mr Chinyeaka Ohaa and Permanent Secretary, Ecological Office, Dr Habiba Lawal at a retreat of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) with the Secretaries to the State Governments at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Tuesday (19/12/17) Osinbajo speaking at the 2017 Retreat of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation with The Secretaries to The State Governments at the State House Conference Centre said ‘It was after a national security summit of the National Economic Council that Governors at their forum decided to approve some money for national security,’ Recalled that the All Progressives Congress, APC, had asked Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to challenge its 11 governors to demand probity on how the $1 billion will be spent, rather than condemnation.
